My name is Alex, and I am a proud Wagadagam and Meriam woman from Far North Queensland, currently studying a Bachelor of Communications with a double major or Journalism and Media and Communications.

Outside of study, I am a radio broadcaster and journalist for the National Indigenous Radio Service where we provide news bulletins to First Nations stations across the country.

I am passionate about providing a voice to the voiceless, seeing more black faces in non-black spaces, and ensuring Australia’s media landscape is a fair playing field for all, regardless of someone’s race, gender, ethnicity and sexuality. 

 

I am due to graduate mid-2024, and hope to pursue a career in television.
